On the occasion of the 2013 Oscar gala, Apple has taken the opportunity to launch a new TV commercial for the iPad and iPad mini. This is perhaps the most cinematic advert they have presented so far, because although it follows the lines of the previous adverts, it especially highlights applications and content related, in a way, to the world of cinema.
The new ad is called Hollywood and in it, Apple again uses the white background and a hand holding the device, which is inserted between the iPad and the iPad mini. This type of spot has been working quite well for Cupertino’s company, so it’s not surprising that they are still using it after so much time since the first spot was broadcast with this format.

This new spot shows some applications such as iMovie, 8mm Vintage Camera, an application that simulates the classic clapperboard used in the world of cinema, the Apple maps application showing the 3D view, several fragments of movies available in the iTunes Store and other applications that, in some way, are related to the world of cinema, arts or entertainment.
During the announcement, both the iPad 4 with Retina display and the iPad mini appear, one of the ways Apple is using to tell the world that both devices are capable of doing virtually the same things and that the only real difference is the size of the device (if we forget about screen resolution).
