Apple releases iOS 7.0.4
Apple yesterday released iOS 7.0.4 for iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini Retina, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, as well as the fifth generation iPod Touch. This new version of the Apple mobile operating system includes some improvements and fixes some detected issues, “such as the one that caused errors in FaceTime calls for some users” .
As usual, the update can be done from iTunes or directly from the device by going to Settings -> General -> Software Update .
These aren’t the only updates Apple has released. The fourth-generation iPod touch has received version 6.1.5 (not compatible with iOS 7) and the second-generation Apple TV has received the update to version 6.0.2, both of which apply minor fixes.
Those of you waiting for the iOS 7 Jailbreak can upgrade to iOS 7.0.4 without any problems
Every time Apple releases an update of its operating system, users interested in Jailbreak should wait to update, as some of these updates could close the holes that hackers use for Jailbreak.
However, this time the hackers have been quick and have already announced that the update to iOS 7.0.4 is safe for the Jailbreak . The announcement has been made by iH8sn0w via Twitter, who has commented that iOS 7.0.4 fixes some bugs regarding Apple’s so-called FaceTime, but that “has no change in security” .
In the hacker’s own words:
Shortly after the iH8sn0w comment, it was also confirmed by a hacker who has a very long history on the iOS 7 Jailbreak and who is a real authority on the community, MuscleNerd. This hacker, as commented in Appadvice, was a little less optimistic, since he commented that apparently iOS 7.0.4 version should not affect a possible future Jailbreak if it is installed, but advised not to install it “just in case” .
The iOS 7 Jailbreak seems to be going well. Just yesterday we showed you the first Tweaks running on the new mobile operating system on the block. Some time ago we commented that hackers were quite optimistic about the iOS 7 Jailbreak. It seemed that Evad3rs only needed to create the tool and put all the pieces together, but since then we had no news. Until now.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to the iOS 7 Jailbreak?
