Last week we mentioned that the iPhone 6c could be delayed and would not reach the market until the second quarter of 2016. Now, a new rumor has emerged on the web that the 4-inch iPhone 6c will be introduced later this year along with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus .
If everything goes according to plan, the Keynote presentation of the iPhone will take place on September 9th. This event could also see the launch of the new generation of Apple TV, the iPad and even the iPad Pro.
Evan Blass, better known on Twitter as Evleaks, claims that Apple could release the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and 6c at the same time . As reflected in this latest report, the iPhone 6c would be a 4-inch model, a size it abandoned last year when it launched the 4.7 and 5.5-inch models.
Will we see the iPhone 6c in September?
Rumors about the iPhone began to appear at the end of last year, indicating that Apple may be considering launching a somewhat cheaper device with a smaller screen , aimed at those who prefer a smaller phone. Thus, the iPhone 6c would have a 4-inch screen, the size used for a long time by Apple.
More recent reports indicated that plans for iPhone 6c had been delayed and the device would not see the light until the second quarter of 2016. In addition, is said to feature advanced 14-16nm FinFET processors that would offer greater performance and energy efficiency, as well as a design made of metal rather than plastic like the iPhone 5c.
However, now rumors suggest that Apple is planning to release the three new iPhone models on the Keynote next September along with three new iPads.
Several records rule out the arrival of the iPhone 6c
While CultofMac says that Apple plans to launch the iPhone 6c this year, last July Fisku began to see two unknown iPhone models in their records identified as “iphone 8.1” and “iphone 8.2” . This would cast doubt on these rumors about the release of the 4-inch model this year.
The identifiers of “iphone 8.1” and “iphone 8.2” would correspond to the next generation 4.7 and 5.5 inch smartphone that would be named iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, respectively. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the iPhone 6c doesn’t exist , but that they might not be testing it.
Do you think iPhone 6c will see the light of day in 2015 or should we wait until 2016?
