The company has ordered a record number of units of the future iPhone 6
The iPhone 6 is generating a great deal of excitement among users, so much so that even Apple expects its future smartphone to be a great success from the moment of its launch . Moreover, according to a new report published by The Wall Street Journal, the American company has made a record order of units, and it seems that they are trying to have 80 million units of both models before December 30 .
On the other hand, at the beginning of this month new data on its production was also released, which indicated that the mass production of the iPhone 6 4.7 and 5.5 inches could be commented in the next weeks . But going back to the issue of the units that will be produced, if these data are true we would be looking at one of Apple’s record orders. For example, with the iPhone 5s and 5c the company ordered a production of between 50 and 60 million units.
If we add to this the fact that Foxconn, one of its main manufacturing partners, has recently hired 100,000 new workers and will even incorporate the use of robots in order to meet Apple’s production demands , we have no doubt that the company’s expectations with the iPhone 6 are really very high.
The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 may have some production issues
This is not the first time we hear about the possible problems that the larger model might be having when it is being manufactured. The battery and the touch panel of the larger model are the components that would be giving the company the most problems , but there has also been talk of problems with the colouring of the metal casing.
These setbacks that the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 would be experiencing could cause its launch to be delayed even until the beginning of 2015, a possibility already raised earlier by Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at KGI Values.
However, other published reports claim that both versions of iPhone 6 will arrive at the same time at the end of the same year . From The Wall Street Journal they comment that for Apple a possible setback with the 5.5-inch screen is that those responsible for manufacturing them would be trying to increase the production of these panels, and that is that the manufacture of this type of screen is somewhat complicated.
Will the iPhone 6 finally have a sapphire crystal display?
A few weeks ago, we mentioned that the sapphire crystal screen could be exclusive to the 5.5-inch model. However, recent reports from Asia suggest that this type of material could be restricted to higher end models with larger storage capacity .
Finally, CultofMac comments that while the production of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is about to start, the production of the 5.5-inch model will not start until September . With these dates, the possibility of seeing both models on the market at the same time is ruled out. The 4.7-inch model will be launched in September and the 5.5-inch will be launched by the end of the year for the Christmas campaign or early 2015.
