In these times of quarantine that we are living in many countries of the world due to the coronavirus, we have to spend much more time at home than usual . You can take advantage of this time in many different ways, playing online with your friends from your iPhone, watching a movie or series based on the story of Apple and Steve Jobs, or reading a good book.
And now you can enjoy several free books thanks to a new initiative from Apple. From the Books application that we all have installed on the iPhone or iPad, we have available a large collection with numerous free books , among which several well-known titles stand out.
This promotion appeared for the first time this weekend in the United States and has been extended to Spain with other books in Spanish. If you want to enjoy such important books as “The Da Vinci Code” or “Men Who Didn’t Love Women” completely free, you can now do it from your Apple device.
Apple has a large collection of free books that it offers in its Books application on a regular basis and which can be found in a section called Great Free Books. To access it, just go to the Books app from your iPhone or iPad and in the Reading section slide down until you find it . They are organized by sections, Mystery and suspense, Romance, Fiction… you can find many recognized titles to read these days.
However, the apple company has decided to go one step further by offering a new series of completely free titles among which are
- El tiempo entre costuras’, by María Dueñas.
- ‘En familia con Karlos Arguiñano’, by Karlos Arguiñano.
- “Something as simple as tweeting I love you,” by Blue Jeans.
- Dan Brown’s ‘The Da Vinci Code’.
- ‘All the guys I fell in love with’, by Jenny Han.
- Stieg Larsson’s ‘The Men Who Didn’t Love Women’.
- ‘My name is Stilton, Geronimo Stilton’, by Geronimo Stilton.
- The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.
- Carlos Ruiz Zafón’s ‘The Shadow of the Wind’.
Several of these titles are also available in Catalan and you can download them completely free to your Apple devices. All you have to do is enter the Books app, go to the Shop section , it’s the icon in the middle of the ones below, and you will see a section entitled: ‘Our selection of free books’ . Just enter the one you want to download and click on Get. If you are interested in one of them, you can also search for it directly.
When you click on the book it will start downloading, you must confirm by Face ID or Touch ID that you want to purchase it, completely free of charge of course, and it will be added to your book library. Also remember that if you have synchronized your purchases, you will automatically have the book on all your devices and you can continue your reading from any of them.
Without a doubt a nice initiative from Apple that joins that of other great developers who, for example, have put some free games on the App Store, as is the case with Mini Metro or Alto’s Odyssey.
