Todas las características del iPhone X.
Now that the iPhone X is officially out on the web, we’ve learned a detail about its development. Matthew Panzarino writing for TechCrunch was able to interview Dan Riccio, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware, and ask him about the rumors about the possible inclusion of Touch ID on the iPhone X . A rumor that Riccio completely denies.
No Touch ID under the screen, neither on the back nor on the side like some competitive smartphones. Apple wanted to “burn the bridges” as soon as it saw that Face ID could meet its demands. A decision that could have been made as early as mid 2016 or earlier.
However, there are patents that show that Apple explored the idea of integrating Touch ID under the iPhone screen. A patent application that was filed in August , but that does not imply that Apple was weighing up this technology just two weeks before the introduction of iPhone X.
Often, companies devote resources to exploring technologies that then go nowhere . But that they patent in order to plant a flag on them and claim them as their own, given the effort they have been able to devote to it, can be significant. It can also be a way of giving recognition to the author of the technology, even if it does not materialize.
Little does this debate matter anymore, since Face ID is a reality and Touch ID has its days counted in future Apple products.
