¿Eres artista y quieres aparecer en Connect de Apple Music? Esto te interesa
Apple Music has introduced a number of new features that we’ve already talked about at length in our mammoth article on Resolved Questions, but users aren’t the only ones getting used to the changes in the Music app. The artists also use it, only for them the app offers a series of social features, hidden from the rest of the users of iOS 8.4, with which they can connect with their fans directly from their iPhone.
My partner Raul Alvarez already taught us the steps an artist must follow to put his songs on Apple Music and take control of his profile on Connect, and now we’re going to take the next step and show you the exclusive options of the Music app for accredited artists.
In the first image you can already see the button to publish a new post , just to the left of the search button. With it, artists can publish a message or link with all the users that follow them. If you belong to a band, you can also choose whether to post on the band’s profile, or in a personal capacity.
Both this option and a second button with a plus sign that appears on every album, allow you to upload content such as photos and videos directly from the device’s reel, as well as add songs from your music library and record audio clips (called soundbites ) in a similar way to the Messages app.
The artists can complete the information of the songs and videos with a title, a description, a cover image, specify what kind of song it is, and mark or not the content as explicit (the classic E that warns the users that it can be rude, sexual or violent among other things).
One click on publish, and it will be available to fans.
The last option exclusively for artists is found in the options menu (the three dots) while browsing any album, music video or playlist , whatever it is. By clicking on share you can do just that, share it with your fans on Connect, something I’d love for any user to be able to do in the future.
As footnotes we have the possibility to insert your posts in any web page using the linkmaker.itunes.apple.com, or that although they can delete a previous post, they are not allowed to edit them, a very common measure in all social networks.
What do you think? Aside from uploading songs, wouldn’t it be great if users also had profile pages where they could share the music and videos they like the most?
