Apple is making a lot of effort to give more prominence to its services than to its products. It has realized that are an important source of revenue that can attract more users to its ecosystem. Although the date of the company’s next Keynote has been filtered, in which it will show its news subscription service and possibly also the streaming movie and series service, its main asset is Apple Music.
Apple Music is growing at an unstoppable rate despite fierce competition led by Spotify. The streaming music service already has 50 million users , its main market being the United States, but it is gradually taking hold of the rest of the world. However, Spotify still has twice as many paying customers. Apple, to get an even bigger slice of the pie, is turning to promotions.
If a few days ago the company was providing three months of free service for notifications, it has just launched a new promotion. All Apple Music subscribers will have the possibility to give away one month to a friend .
The promotion arrived in the form of a push notification last Friday . Opening it redirects the user to an Apple website that says you can give away a month of Apple Music via text message.
According to AppleInsider, only non-Subscribers to the service can benefit from this promotion , as it does not work as a discount or free month to use. Once the month has passed, the subscription is automatically renewed, so be careful. Although it is not yet confirmed, it seems that those who have been Apple Music subscribers but are no longer subscribers can also qualify for the promotion.
