At AppleWhy lowering the price of the iPhone is the wrong answer to Apple’s problems

In this way, Cupertino Cook’s company will evaluate the macroeconomic conditions of the international markets, to make the prices “more proportional” to the local prices of last year , this of course in order to boost sales.

Apple has already started to reduce the price of the iPhone for external distributors in China, and price cuts could also be introduced in countries such as India and Brazil, where the iPhone is exaggeratedly expensive and has been stagnating due to high prices .

“When you look at foreign currencies and then particularly the markets that weakened in the last year, those increases (in the price of the iPhone) were greater (…) we decided to go back to being more in line with the local prices we had a year ago in the hope of helping sales in those areas” , Cook told Reuters.

So far only this pair of territories where the iPhone is excessively expensive have been referred to. We will have to wait to know in which other countries the prices of the iPhone could have a significant reduction.
