Since Apple introduced the iPhone 6, rumors about the next generation of the smartphone have started to emerge. At the moment nothing is clear, and as usual Cupertino’s will not reveal any details until the last day. Today new rumors have emerged that Apple plans to launch three models of iPhone this year, one of which would have a 4-inch screen .
According to the latest rumours from Asia, Apple is working on three different iPhone models to be launched in the second half of 2015. It seems that the new generation will arrive with the nomenclature “s” and a new series “c” , following the steps of the previous generation.
Thus, the new models with 4.7 and 5.5 inch screens will be called iPhone 6s and 6s Plus . Meanwhile, the model with a 4-inch screen would be called the iPhone 6c and would be part of the entry range, like the iPhone 5c with a plastic rear case that Apple launched in 2013.
What features would the iPhone 6s and 6c have?
According to these rumours, the iPhone 6c would have a 4-inch screen and inside it would integrate the A8 chip that is part of the current iPhone 6. With this new model, Apple would seek to cover a larger number of users, as there are a large number of people who today prefer a smaller, more manageable screen.
The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus would have a screen of 4.7 and 5.5 inches respectively and would be fitted with Apple’s new A9 chip , which, according to information, would be manufactured mostly by Samsung. In addition, they say that Japan Display and LG would be the suppliers responsible for supplying the screens for the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and 6c, while Sharp would help supply the panels for the 5.5-inch model.
The report also says that the three models of the smartphone that Apple will launch this year will feature a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, an NFC holder for Apple Pay and a Gorilla Glass cover for the display . Finally, rumors say that Wistron is expected to take over the manufacture of the iPhone 6c, while Foxconn and Pegatron would take over the two iPhone 6s models.
Apple would launch the 4-inch iPhone 6c to cover a larger market
From AppleInsider they point out that the rumors that Apple may re-launch a 4-inch iPhone first appeared in December 2014 from the hand of analyst Timoteo Arcuri. Now, a new report raises this possibility again and goes one step further, saying that it would be named iPhone 6c.
The current iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are a huge success , just look at how they have helped the company to sell 74.5 million units of its smartphone in Q1 2015. However, there are still people who prefer devices that are more manageable with one hand, which is why it wouldn’t be a crazy idea for Apple to launch the iPhone 6c with a 4-inch screen. With this new generation, the company would be able to satisfy those customers who are looking for something powerful, but without having to sacrifice the size of the device .
How would you like the idea of Apple launching a 4-inch iPhone this year? Do you think it would be successful?
