Following a lawsuit filed against Apple in June by an iPhone customer in Russia, Apple may be forced to open a repair shop in the former Soviet country . According to Dimitri Petrov (the affected customer), Apple does not provide adequate support in the chain of distribution shops when repairing an iPhone.

According to reports, Apple may be planning to open an iOS device repair center in the country to handle future demands . It is not known when this will happen, but it is reported to be “large and expensive”. According to The Moscow Times, it could cost between one and two million dollars.

Apple does not currently offer a repair service in the Apple Store in Russia, but simply replaces the device directly with a new one .

The lawsuit has not yet been settled, but it could be soon. For its part, Apple assures in the court statements that changing the screen to an iPhone is a complex process because it requires the device to be well calibrated. To do so, they need very expensive machinery that is difficult to implement in today’s stores. Hence the possible opening of a repair center, thus being the first in the world
