The ‘Shot on iPhone’ campaign is becoming one of Apple’s most successful and longest running campaigns. With all the latest iPhone models we have seen Apple promoting its camera through photographs and videos taken with it. Even these last few months they launched a contest on a global level. The latest to join the campaign is an incredible short recorded with the iPhone XS .
Apple has published on its official YouTube channel the five-minute video under the title ‘Ola Cuba’ . In it we see different activities that a community of surfers in the Cuban island carries out. And of course, the iPhone shows off its camera and especially its water resistance (with a trick), with several scenes recorded even underwater.
Besides the short film we can find a video of “behind the scenes” , where the author shows some of the techniques used to record the short film. As you can see, the iPhone comes protected in a waterproof case and not completely uncovered in the ocean. Although it is certified to be submersible.
On this occasion the device used to record the short film was an iPhone XS , probably with the help of different professional video recording and editing apps. In other occasions, like for the Chinese New Year short film, the iPhone XS was also used. That does not mean that we do not have ‘Shot on iPhone’ campaigns starring the iPhone XR, for example the collection of user photos a few months ago.
