Apple launches a shorter version of the Lightning cable… for the same price

El cable Lightning a USB en la web de la Apple Store

What’s new in the Apple accessories landscape. The company has launched a shorter version of its Lightning to USB cable , for those who do not need the metre-long cable to connect their iPhone or iPad from their power adapters to their computers. The company did the same with its Thunderbolt cable early last month, a sign that many customers may have asked for it when spending money on cables.

However, while in the case of the Thunderbolt cable the price is reduced, the new Lightning to USB half-meter cable maintains the same price as the one meter cable : 19 euros. It is noticeable that the value of half a meter of conventional USB cable is much lower than that of the Thunderbolt cable, although a slight reduction in the already normally high price of these official accessories would have been appreciated.

There is, by the way, another little innovation: the control buttons on Apple’s in-ear headphones now look like the buttons on the new EarPods. The cable can now be purchased from the Apple Store website and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was also already on the shelves of official physical stores and authorized distributors.
