Rumors that we wouldn’t see a new iPhone until after summer or even 2012 are starting to fall as WWDC ’11 approaches . These days, Apple’s public relations department is starting to send out press invitations to various international media.
At this year’s WWDC no special press guests were expected as it was going to be a developers’ conference where no new hardware would be presented. However, the English and Australian press have already received some invitations.
This leads us to think that the new iPhone is just around the corner and that Apple will introduce it in the next few days . It’s not yet clear whether it will be a completely redesigned model called iPhone 5, or a little specification wash as happened with the iPhone 3G and 3GS. In this case we would be talking about an iPhone 4S , which is where all the rumours are pointing.
What remains to be confirmed is the presence of Steve Jobs on the keynote . We will probably see him leading the presentation and leaving it to the rest of the iOS engineers and Lion.
