Apple has distributed a new iTunes 10.5 beta to developers, namely 6.1. This beta presents as new iTunes Match , which was already revealed in June together with iCloud.
Please note that Match does not directly upload our iTunes library to the cloud , but rather after collecting information about it, saves the songs we and Apple have in its database . Subsequently, and if any song is not found on Apple’s servers, iTunes Match automatically uploads it to iCloud along with any album artwork we have stored on our computer.
Currently the beta is only available to US developers , who enjoy iTunes Match for free for the duration of the beta , as after this time all uploaded content will be removed from iCloud. However, the betatesters will be given an additional 3 months of service when they sign up for 12 months of service for 25,000 songs; all at a cost of $24.99
