9 to 5 MacMás información
But this year it seems that applications for Mac OS X have no place . The information page clearly states that this competition will recognise the iPhone OS application that stands out for its excellence, innovation, adaptation to available technology and quality.
This, along with the poster, a mosaic full of iPhone OS application icons, which announces this year’s developer conference, makes it clear that right now Apple is more interested in the part related to its mobile devices. A decision that, while not surprising given the importance that Apple is giving to the iPhone OS and that we all know, leaves a bad feeling for those of us who are still interested in Mac OS X applications.
Obviously, I don’t think Apple is going to put aside its interest in Mac OS X and make the iPhone OS the central system in its ecosystem. But it can be seen that in a future version the convergence between both platforms will be remarkable.
This gives some credibility to the theme of the so-called “Mac Store”, not because all applications must be approved by the company itself but because those sold on the App Store will work on both platforms.
But that’s another story, now if you want to participate in the nominations you will have to be registered in the iPhone OS developer program. Having from deadline to present candidates on May 14th .
