When we hear about an Apple Store, it is inevitable that the image of the renowned glass cube located in the store on Fifth Avenue in New York comes to mind. The bad news is that, apparently, Cupertino’s company is considering the possibility of dismantling it.
According to MacRumors, Apple will renovate its store to expand its underground space from 32,000 square feet to 77,000 . The idea is that this place can not only receive a greater number of tourists, but also has a new area for the Beats 1 radio station, from where they will conduct live interviews, and some acoustic for all the attendees of the store and Apple Music subscribers.
At the moment it is not clear what Cupertino’s signature will do with the cube , as it could be temporarily removed to allow construction underneath, or Apple could have in mind a renovation plan for this emblematic cube. Also, this is not the first time the company has dismantled the cube. In 2011 it was demolished to be rebuilt with larger glass panels.
Also, in order not to leave the users of the area without an Apple store nearby, the company set up a temporary Apple Store that will meet the high demand of visitors that the site receives every day. This year’s restructuring operation will start on May 9th and will cost 2 million dollars .
