It is a relatively small update compared to the other previous betas, which may mean that they are slowly polishing up the last details of the system. Also, new preliminary versions of Xcode 4.2, iTunes 10.5 and the special iOS version for Apple TV have been distributed along with this beta 7.
However, what is really interesting about this update is that Apple has clarified the doubts that had arisen about the possible streaming that appeared with the beta of iTunes Match . First it was said that it was streaming, then Apple said that technically it was not… and now with this new beta it is confirmed that in when we play a song, even if it is only a segment, the whole song is downloaded to the device to be stored in it. In the video above you have the proof.
With all of these changes and clarifications, Apple promises to be a talking point as soon as the iTunes Match service goes public. There are still many doubts about how this service will work , and as they are not resolved with these betas I think we will not solve anything until it starts working definitively in the United States.
