It seems that the city of Cupertino is in the process of reviewing Apple’s plans, evaluating the environmental impact (traffic, noise, air quality), and is giving the public the opportunity to make their comments and proposals.

What will the new Apple campus look like?

According to the company’s plans for the block, the structure of the so-called Apple Campus 2 has four floors and would consist of approximately 2.8 million square meters . The campus would include a corporate auditorium for over a thousand people , the new research facility occupies 300,000 square meters and the office space supports up to 13,000 employees . According to Apple , the objectives of the project are to maximize the efficiency and comfort of its employees , to create a distinctive and inspiring workplace adapted to the 21st century and to exceed the economic goals of social and environmental sustainability through this great design and its comprehensive development.

On the other hand, Apple is also looking for ways to reduce its dependence on electricity supplied by the city’s grid, by building its own power plant.

Steve Jobs presented the project of new facilities in Cupertino on June 7 at the municipal plenary session of the City Council.

Both the mayor of Cupertino, Gilbert Wong , and some neighboring towns see the project in a good light and it is clear that it will continue, as the mayor himself stated at the press conference held by the City Council on June 8.
