A new report shows us how the App Store (with half the downloads of Google Play) has entered twice as many as the store for Android so far in 2018.
According to Sensor Tower, App Store revenue was approximately $22.6 billion, compared to $11.8 billion for Google Play. Basically, the Apple store has earned 1.9 times more money than Google Play . This is not a new trend, it is due to a series of factors that have been affecting Google Play for years, but it is still surprising. More so if we consider the number of users with an Android device versus those with an iOS device.
Regardless of what Google Play does or doesn’t do, the App Store provides a number of other interesting facts. For example, taking into account that last year a total of 38.5 million were entered and looking at the period of the first half of the year, Sensor Tower predicts an increase of 26.8% over last year . Why? Surely the subscriptions.

Developers can now obtain a constant income that allows them to have a stability to be able to develop new features in their apps and services continuously. However, the apps that have generated the most revenue are mostly games, with the exception of Netflix.
And how does all this affect the user? It’s a closed circle. On the one hand, Apple keeps the bar high with a series of requirements and standards. On the other hand, developers try to live up to Apple’s standards by creating quality apps and services. And the third factor is the user, who finances and consumes these apps and services. As a result, the store with the best quality in apps and games .
