Video surveillance cameras have been compatible with Apple HomeKit for years, but their functions were quite limited , allowing access to them in real time and receiving alert notifications with a capture of what was happening.
Anker has announced that its new camera, the EufyCam 2 , which has 1080p (Full HD) video recording and a battery with a range of up to one year, will add compatibility to the HomeKit next December.
Although the EufyCam 2 is already available in some territories, it did not yet have HomeKit support. The company initially said that support would arrive by the end of the year, but has now specified that it will be in December, although the exact day is unknown .

For those who can’t wait, Anker has started a beta program aimed at users who want to test the function, even though it may have errors, as HomeKit News comments. In addition, the EufyCam 2 will be compatible with HomeKit Secure Video, a HomeKit feature that adds more functions to video surveillance cameras, such as storage of recordings in iCloud. However, Anker has not specified whether this update will add HomeKit Secure Video support or will arrive soon.
