With the arrival of the latest iOS 11.3 beta, AirPlay 2 has disappeared from devices for no apparent reason.
Some users claim that it had a series of errors , so Apple may have decided to remove it temporarily to fix these errors.
As this is a beta , it’s normal that some features are no longer available to appear again in other updates, so despite the delays AirPlay 2 is having, we’ll probably see it again in a next update.
Multi-room, the star feature of AirPlay 2.
One of the novelties that Apple presented to us in the WWDC 17 was AirPlay 2, where we have the possibility of connecting two devices simultaneously to play a content.
For example, we can put a theme song with Apple Music on the living room TV but also play it on a speaker from our bedroom. This feature is really interesting, because currently we could only do it with third party devices , such as Logitech EU speakers through their app.
It seems that the Apple TV button has also disappeared in the Home application , where we could interact thanks to HomeKit. Like AirPlay 2, this function will surely return in some new update of the betas.
This could mean that Apple is working on it to fix some bugs, where some users, thanks to the betas program, already reported the problems that AirPlay 2 was having.
This last part is very important, the feedback from users who want to test the new features of iOS, because this way, we all help iOS to remain a reliable operating system with the least possible errors.
Remember that you too can use the public or developer betas to test new iOS features to help improve the Apple operating system.
Have you been able to try out AirPlay 2? Why do you think Apple decided to remove it without warning?
