With the arrival of iOS and the recent release of OS X Yosemite, a new range of possibilities is opened up for these two operating systems. One of them is the compatibility through Handoff, function that allows us to create a continuity between our Apple devices. This means that everything we do in one of our idevices will be reflected in the rest and we can continue that task in any of our configured devices. In AppleSupportPhoneNumber we show you how to configure Handoff in iOS 8 and OS X so you can enjoy this new feature.
Handoff can be activated from iMacs from late 2012 onwards, Macbook Air from mid-2011 onwards and Macbook Pro launched in mid-2012 onwards. Also all Mac Pros from 2013 or later and all iOS 8-compatible devices except iPad 2.
To enable Handoff on iOS 8 you must go to Settings> General> Handoff and Suggested Applications and activate the Handoff option. In addition it is necessary to activate the WI-FI and Bluetooth connections, accessible from the control centre.
To enable it in Yosemite, we will also have to connect the device’s Bluetooth , for this we access System Preferences> Bluetooth and from there we can activate it. After this, we will also have to activate the Handoff, so we open System Preferences> General and in the penultimate option we activate Handoff.
It should be noted that in order to use this function, the devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Thanks to this function we can for example start a document in Pages, Numbers or Keynote in one of our devices and be able to access it instantly in another one. This function will give us a lot of flexibility both in our work and in our daily life.
