The wallpaper of an operating system is one of the things we remember most, and so we may be able to identify some versions over others. With the rise of iOS 13, we now take a tour of the most iconic wallpapers , so that all nostalgic people can download them to their mobile devices and remember old times.
OS 1, iPhone OS 2, iPhone OS 3
We began by sharing some of the most significant backgrounds we saw on iPhone Edge, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. The first of the operating systems had multi-touch gestures, everything was extremely visual, and it had Internet search with Safari and a YouTube app. On the other hand, with OS 2 came the App Store, and with OS 3 came the copy, cut, and paste functions (which were previously unavailable). Below you can find the most popular backgrounds of these versions, so you can download them to your current iPhone.
iOS 4, iOS 5
iOS 4 came pre-installed not only on the iPhone 4 but also on the iPad 2, and marked an important milestone because finally came the possibility of setting a wallpaper , multitasking, app folders, FaceTime and iBooks for iPad. For its part, iOS 5 brought Siri to the fore, and we saw for the first time a Notification Center, iMessage, Reminders and Newsstand.
With the arrival of this operating system we saw the appearance of Passbook, support for LTE and integration with Facebook , in addition in iOS 6 Apple Maps had a remarkable protagonism (for bad).
Thanks to iOS 7 we saw the most radical change of all in iOS, with the arrival of a colorful system based on transparencies and gradients.
Following the launch of iOS 8 we see the arrival of services such as Apple Pay, Health, HandOff, QuickType, Family Sharing, iCloud Drive, third party keyboards and Apple Music .
In iOS 9, a whole change in system usage was introduced thanks to the 3D Touch support of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus . With this version Notes was updated with new features, Newsstand was replaced by News, improvements were added to Passbook which was renamed Wallet and improved Maps with directions and traffic.
Besides being a more open operating system for developers, with iOS 10 the widget center was much more intuitive and the lock screen more useful . In addition, notifications were enriched to perform more actions directly from them.
This was an operating system where Siri started to have a new visual interface that will show us multiple results , and even help us to translate those in other languages. Also, after this update, Siri can be used for task management with third party apps, and it will not only understand our voice, but it will be smarter understanding the context, interests and what we want to do. Similarly, the Control Center in iOS 11 is a full screen with all controls, using 3D Touch to increase the use of each control.
In 2018 Cupertino’s signature released iOS 12 for all users. With this update came new features such as the ‘Time of Use’ function, which allows us to manage how much we use the device . Similarly, another new feature was the ability to manage large numbers of notifications more efficiently. And of course, the ‘Shortcuts’ app, as well as the new ‘Do Not Disturb’ function are among the main features of this version.
