The iPhone 7s will be the iPhone of the tenth anniversary, and one of the changes it will introduce may not only be the OLED screen, but also a new color . The first iPhone came out in black, later white, silver, gold and pink gold were introduced, ten years later we will surely see red as well.
The Japanese blog Macotakara has a new report on the successor to the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus : red will be added to the other colours by a new chassis. Is this possible? Macotakara has a good history of rumours that it has been right over the years. For example, they were the first to warn about a possible wireless headset, something that was later transformed into AirPods.
Making a brief compilation of rumours about the next iPhone, it is expected that next year’s iPhone will come in three versions : one with aOLED panel and a glass back and two new models to upgrade the iPhone 7 to its 7s and 7s Plus version. Obviously the iPhone with OLED panel will have the premium features of the next generation: wireless charging or glass enclosure among others. So, the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will surely have an upgrade inside with the A11 chip and the color red.
September 2017 is a long way off, and let’s remember that Apple works with different iPhone prototypes before launching a new one . So we’ll see if in the next few months the rumors settle down or change, but of course a red-colored iPhone is very tempting. Currently, Apple has products in red for different accessories that join the recently celebrated Apple RED initiative. On the other hand, the iPhone Touch and the iPod Mini have their respective versions in red.
