According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Apple wants to improve its system to avoid distractions while driving . Currently, iOS sends an automatic message warning that the user is driving and cannot take the call. Apple wants to go further and have Siri provide information about the user to the caller.

According to the patent, Siri could send the current location of the user thanks to the GPS for example. It would also be able to send a copy of the user’s calendar events for that day, or the status of the device he is calling. The idea is that Siri can combine the different types of information available to provide each caller with the right information according to the context and trust with that contact.

During this WWDC considerable improvements are expected for Siri , now that artificial intelligence is becoming more and more important at Apple and we have the HomePod among us. Among those improvements, we will possibly see changes that will improve the ‘Do not disturb while driving’ function with Siri’s intelligence.
