It’s been a month since Apple released the iOS 8.1.3 update for all users , and it’s a version that fixes several bugs that were dragging some compatible devices from several versions back.
You may not have taken the plunge with your iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, so we’re going to give you 5 reasons why you should upgrade to iOS 8.1.3
1. Corrects two major errors
Although iOS 8.1.3 is an incremental update, it has two bugs fixed and quite important. Fixes issues with Apple IDs for iMessage or FaceTime and fixes some Spotlight issues on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
Spotlight can be a great resource when looking for something specific on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, so upgrading to iOS 8.1.3 becomes a necessity if you use it regularly. A few days ago, we gave you a full review of how iOS 8.1.3 works on iPhone 6.
More fixes for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus
iOS 8.1.3 fixes more issues on iPhone 6 than are listed in the changelog. If you’re experiencing some issues with iOS 8.1.2 we recommend that you upgrade.
Fixed bugs such as connectivity issues with Wi-Fi and landscape or horizontal display , which blocked iPhone 6 in some cases. It is also the most stable version ever released.
More space for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus 16GB users
Even if you’re not having problems with the version of iOS you have installed, we recommend that you upgrade for a very rewarding reason for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users with 16GB of storage space, as iOS 8.1.3 reduces the amount of free space required when upgrading an application.
This allows you to prepare iPhone 6 and 6 Plus for future iOS 8 OTA upgrades, which will require plenty of free space on the device and if you don’t have an iTunes-enabled computer within reach to perform the upgrade.
4. Safety improvements
Another aspect that has not been reflected in the list of changes in iOS 8.1.3 is that Apple has introduced improvements in system security and in total there are 21 security updates included, which are not few and one of them fixes a potential problem found in the App Store.
If you want your device to be much safer, it’s best to upgrade to the latest version.
5. In case you are still in iOS 8
If you’re still on iOS 8, I don’t know what to expect when you upgrade, especially if you’re thinking of getting the Apple Watch to use with your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus.
iOS 8.1 introduced the Apple Pay functionality and although it has not yet made the jump outside the United States, it is known that Apple’s mobile payment system will arrive in Europe by the end of this year. The best thing is to be prepared and to have your smartphone up to date.
Let’s hope that these five reasons we have learned from Gotta Be Mobile have convinced you to make the leap to iOS 8.1.3. Although it is always up to you to update or not, remember that with each version the Apple operating system becomes more secure and more stable. Gone are the problems with the first versions of the latest version of the Cupertino’s operating system.
Do you already have iOS 8.1.3 on your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus? You can tell us about your experience with this version of the operating system and if you have had any problems.
