A few hours ago we saw what is possibly the biggest leak on iPhone 8 so far, the design of it was confirmed by an icon that has appeared on the HomePod firmware. It seems that the thing does not stop there, we already have what could be the resolution of the iPhone 8 and the inches of its screen.
As Steven Troughton-Smith indicates after analyzing the code of the HomePod, on the iPhone 8 we will find a resolution of 2,436×1,125 pixels on a 5.15 inch screen . To get an idea, the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. That is, the density of pixels per inch will be much higher.
These data coincide with those provided by KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in February this year. Both the rumour and the leak therefore take on a little more credibility, as they support each other. Of course, KGI’s analyst assured us that we would see a function area at the bottom of the screen…
The HomePod firmware has proved to be a treasure trove of information about the upcoming iPhone, which we’ll see in full in September. Developer Steven Troughton-Smith also found references to a new security system based on facial recognition, a system that will possibly replace the Touch ID completely. Many doubts about the next iPhone are still to be solved, but little by little we are getting to know the star phone of Apple.
